Our Software Asset Management Assessment (SamScan) is conducted through structured interviews with operational and strategic personnel. Based upon the interviews, our experience, and extensive ITIL® SAM knowledge base an assessment report is produced detailing the capability and maturity of the Software Asset Management process areas. The report also contains high-level recommendations on how to how to mature your processes, and how to demonstrate tangible improvements in service to the business.
Our consultant will meet with the sponsor to gain background information, discuss the current organisational structure, determine the interviewees for each interview session and agree on the desired ‘future state’.
Then the Pink Elephant consultant will facilitate a series of assessment meetings to explore the best practice processes that underpin Software Asset Management. Generally, Pink Elephant suggests 4-7 interview sessions covering such areas as Senior Management, Change Management, SAM team, Server Support, Desktop Support and Legal. Each interview session will be between 1 – 2 hours to discuss the area and how it works within the organisation.

The Assessment will identify the gaps that exist between the current and future state. They will also provide a snapshot of the current state as exists in the organisation at the time of the audit.
Our report will include an inventory of recommended actions to be taken to overcome the gaps identified during the Assessment
