Pink17: 21st Annual International IT Service Management Conference & Exhibition

With over 2,000 attendees from across the globe, Pink Elephant’s annual conference strengthened its reputation as “the world’s best IT Service Management conference”.

Communicate. Connect. Change. This year’s conference theme was covered in over 140 sessions that showed us how to successfully lead and manage people, processes and tools in today’s ever changing IT and business landscapes. The Pink Elephant EMEA team were joined by over 15 of our customers to gain knowledge, new insights and to network with fellow attendees.

The conference was opened by Alison Levine, History Making Mountaineer, Author & Leadership Expert. Alison has become a leadership expert through her unorthodox advice and insights garnered from her experiences in extreme environments. At Pink17, Alison described lessons learned from her various expeditions and suggests leadership principles that apply in extreme adventure also apply in today’s extreme business environments

.

Later that day, we were pleased to welcome one of our respected customers on stage, Ian Teasdale (University of Oxford). Ian provided an insight into the ITSM change story within the university. Ian talked about how a project to implement a common Service Management tool and process transformed how IT is delivered in the university. A big thank you to Ian for sharing his experiences and for highlighting the key lessons learned along the way! Please find here more information about the impressive journey of the University of Oxford.

The next day we had the pleasure to see another loyal client on stage: AutoTrader UK. Following the success of last year’s session delivered by Andrew Humphrey, AutoTrader UK was invited again to share their impressive Service Management journey. This year we had the pleasure to watch Jonathan Leckey (Head of Operations). Jonathan discussed the various stages of AutoTrader’s organisational and cultural change journey and how over time, it helped create an organisation that is open, transparent and collaborative. Like last year, the room was packed and the session feedback excellent – well done and thank you Jono! Please find here more information about AutoTrader’s successful transition from print to digital.

On Tuesday Peter Hubbard, Principal Consultant Pink Elephant EMEA, delivered an inspiring session: The 4 P’s Of Successful ITSM Change Projects: People, People, People, People. Peter journeyed through the ABCs of change – Attitude, Behavior and Culture. He gave the audience an edge to understand how to best approach the “people aspect” of implementing ITSM.

On the final day of the conference, it was time for something completely new: the Service Automation Framework! Jan-Willem Middelburg, author of the “Service Automation Framework presented a summary of the publication and explained the new certification scheme. Jan-Willem gave us a deep insight into the concept of Service Automation, the concept by which you can automate your service offering.
