ISO/IEC 20000 Readiness Assessment
ISO/IEC 20000 is an international standard for IT service management that provides a framework for the effective delivery of IT services. Pink Elephant’s ISO 20000 Readiness Assessment is an objective assessment. It analyses whether your current IT Service Management state is at a level that will achieve formal certification.
The assessment measures the quality of your Service Management processes against the requirements set out by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). It provides a roadmap for achieving certification.

This is a valuable pre-audit ISO/IEC 20000 gap analysis. It identifies areas of non-conformance that your organisation must address to achieve ISO/IEC 20000 certification.
Approach
- Kick-off Presentation: the Pink Elephant consultant will facilitate a presentation for all stakeholders, identified interviewees, and workshop participants. The purpose is to provide an understanding of the assessment’s purpose, scope, and objectives.
- Process Artefacts Finding Workshops and Activities: prior to the assessment workshop activities, our consultant will conduct a detailed review of evidence. Evidence includes process documentation, work products, and artefacts.
- Assessment: the assessment phase involves a comprehensive review of the organisation’s IT service management practices. Pink Elephant will hold a workshop session on each subject to discuss the process. The attendees will be a mixture of IT Managers, process managers (owner) along with process practitioners. Pink Elephant has developed a tailored set of questions. These questions are used to explore each process and the extent of compliance against the ISO/IEC 20000 standard.
- ISO/IEC 20000 Gap Analysis: following the workshops, the consultant will perform a Gap Analysis. This compares the organisation’s current state against the standard’s requirements. It identifies priority areas your organisation must address before the formal assessment and certification process begins. The ISO/IEC 20.000 consultant will work with the organisation to prioritise the identified gaps. Moreover, they will develop a plan for addressing them.
- Roadmap Development: creation of a roadmap of recommended actions. These actions need to be taken to overcome the gaps identified for achieving ISO/IEC 20.000 certification.
Benefits
- Roadmap for achieving ISO/IEC 20.000 Certification: roadmap for achieving ISO/IEC 20000 certification. It includes elements such as recommendations for developing policies and procedures, implementing new ITSM processes, and training staff on IT service management best practices.
- Enhanced Process Efficiency: streamline your ITSM processes, eliminating inefficiencies and redundancies. The assessment encourages the adoption of best practices, improving overall service management.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: aligning with ISO 20000-1 often helps meet other regulatory and compliance requirements. It reduces the risk of non-compliance.
- Competitive Advantage: ISO 20000-1 certification will differentiate you in the market, demonstrating a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Continuous Improvement Culture: the readiness assessment fosters a culture of continuous improvement, where feedback and data are used to enhance ITSM processes. It ensures that improvements are sustainable over the long term, aligning with your strategic goals.
