The NEW ITIL 4 Strategic Leader Designation

That’s why we’re so excited to now offer all courses that enable IT leaders and aspiring leaders to achieve their ITIL® 4 Strategic Leader (SL) designation! As the second main designation path in the ITIL 4 scheme, SL gives IT professionals the knowledge necessary to grow, adapt and thrive in the age of digital transformation.

ITIL 4 Strategic Leader?
The ITIL 4 Strategic Leader is a professional designation that demonstrates a clear understanding of how IT influences and directs the business strategy – not just for IT operations, but for all digitally-enabled services. In addition to creating an appropriate digital strategy that is aligned with the organisation’s business goals, the strategic leader will possess the knowledge needed for directing, planning, and delivering continual improvements with agility.

The ITIL 4 Strategic Leader designation is comprised of two main modules:

• The ITIL 4 Strategist: Direct, Plan & Improve certification course, which was released a few months ago, provides the skills, techniques, and best practices that bring digital and IT strategies to life – including leveraging Agile and Lean ways of working to an organization’s advantage. (Note: this course is common to the ITIL 4 Strategic Leader as well as the ITIL 4 Managing Professional designations.)
• The new ITIL 4 Leader: Digital & IT Strategy certification course, focuses on the challenges associated with developing a digital strategy as well as highlighting how to align a digital business strategy with an IT strategy for business success. This course adds a new perspective to the ITIL suite and elevates the discussion around ITIL concepts to a strategic level among business leaders and aspiring leaders.
• Plus, the ITIL 4 Foundation is a prerequisite for both designation streams.
