Digital TransformationPart 1 Respond, Recover, Reimagine

RESPOND, RECOVER, REIMAGINE

Rikkii Richman MBA – 11/11/2020

As we dust ourselves down, having navigated our way through the challenges of Covid-19, organisations are now considering their next actions in an attempt to mitigate future unforeseen pandemics & geopolitical events, as they address the lessons learned from the past 7 months and the UK prepares to navigate its way through a second national lockdown.

By focusing on digital transformation & tackling it through the phases of; ‘RESPOND, RECOVER, REIMAGINE’, it will pave the way to improved business resilience. Digital transformation will not only build long-term resilience, it also increases speed to market, workforce productivity and stability.

The immediate response has inevitably been on operational continuity, to ensure organisations stay in business. For now, most businesses are operating under a cloud of uncertainty and will remain cautious until optimism and confidence returns. As the markets begin to recover, the organisation must adapt and ready itself to grow, as demand increases and opportunities arise. True strength will be achieved through further investment, enabling the organisation to improve its strength of resilience and build a solid foundation for future growth and expansion as operating models and technologies are reimagined for business sustainability, agility and competitive edge.

However, don’t expect digital transformation to be like other program initiatives. Digital transformation is a continual journey of improvement, where evolving & emergent strategies are adopted as necessary, to navigate through the various challenges a business typically faces, such as technology changes, customer demands & the broader considerations for an organisation’s operational & commercial ecosystems. Therefore, throughout the journey, it is important to keep circling back to review the effectiveness of what has already transformed and to validate the position with key stakeholders and customers.
