Digital transformation starts with people, not technology. If your digital strategy is to be a success, it is essential to win over the hearts and minds of the employees who must buy into the plan of change, all of which must want or at least be open to adapt to new technologies and ways of working.
It is organisation-wide and success may well be dependent on organisational culture. So, when planning digital transformation strategies and major programs of change, an effective communication strategy designed in parallel should not be overlooked. The message of change should come from the business, from leadership teams who believe in the vision, strategy and impact on them as individuals.
Cultural shifts require patience, persistence and a collaborative effort from all parties involved, so staff, customers & others in the ecosystem, must be on board to participate in proof of concepts & pilots and encouraged to provide constructive feedback throughout the journey.
