Pink24 blog: ITSM trends and challenges in 2024

Our Head of Education, Nektaria Kriketou, was lucky enough to jet to Las Vegas for Pink24, the ITSM conference and exhibition hosted by our Pink Elephant buddies in America. Here, she shares her experiences and insights, including the key to successfully dealing with the changes that AI is making to the ITSM world.

This year, I had the pleasure of attending the Pink24 annual conference in Las Vegas – a place that never sleeps, and probably one of the best places to host spectacular events such as Pink24.

Through my attendance at Pink24, I was hoping to gather insights from the market experts, expand my network, and explore new trends in the IT Service Management industry – but Pink24 went above all that.

The number of sessions held and the variety of topics brought up by the experts provided me with a deep overview of how the IT Service Management industry has evolved throughout the years as well as what are the key current and future challenges that relevant professionals will come across and will be required to meet.

How AI will affect ITSM in the coming years

Central to my interest in attending Pink24 has been how Artificial Intelligence will affect ITSM in the coming years, and I was lucky enough to find several sessions on the topic which have expanded my knowledge and made me realise that proactivity is key to dealing effectively with the changes that AI will bring. My interest was gauged by the following sessions:

  1. Integrated and Strategic-Driven Metrics and Dashboards
  2. Data Science, AI and IT Process Management
  3. AI and Service Management – The Changing Landscape of IT Service Management
  4. Lean Principles of Service Management
  5. Top 10 Emerging IT Trends and Considerations for ITSM

..and many more.

Throughout their sessions, the expert speakers presented some very informative materials and case studies with the audience – available also in a downloadable format for us to keep and get back to. In addition to the great range of resources offered, the speakers encouraged active learning for the IT practitioners, allowing room for discussions and debates.

But Pink24 didn’t stop there, with breakfast and lunch breaks as an opportunity to network with the event participants. There I had the chance to combine my notes from the sessions with some constructive discussions with other professionals of various backgrounds eager to learn more, explore, and exchange ideas on what the future will bring to each industry.

Looking back, from the moment I collected my pass to the music and cocktail party on the last day, I can undoubtedly state that this was an experience to remember. My expectations were not just met but went far beyond. I highly recommend anyone seeking to understand why and how to implement best practices according to Lean IT, Agile, Scrum, and DevOps to attend Pink25!
